Glimpse of Cuba: Photography of the Cuban Spirit

For the past 13 years I have had a love affair photographing the Cuban people. Their lives, their reality, those that still have a dream and those that have lost the dreams they once had.

Soon I’ll be creating a new website that will feature images and the stories that go with those images. In the meantime, take a look at the special slideshow that I have created. Tell me what you think, I very much appreciate commentary. RL

J. E. Aneiros - Beautiful and sad pictures of the people and places of my country. At the beginning I was tempted to say: But there are only pictures from Havana! Then I found one from my birthplace: the city of Cienfuegos!

Thanks for the memories!

Roy - Idania y Marcia…I am touched that these images touched your hearts. Please pass this on so others can see these images! The song is sung by Ibrahim Ferrer.

Marcia - That was a beautiful slide show of Cuba…sad, but beautiful. I hope to one day be able to visit my family’s real “home”.
By the way, who sings that version of “Quiereme mucho”? I would love to download it.

Thanks

Idania Estrada - Roy, thank you for caputuring the innocence, strife, hope, endurance, and even the sense of humor of a people and it’s country…your artistic eye captured these beautifully. I cried, laughed and prayed when viewing these images.
