A Joy-ful inspiration!Vizcaya Miami Wedding Photography

Hi, I am so glad you stopped by today!
I want to give you a sneak peak at Alexis and Joey’s Miami Vizcaya wedding. I am sure that the incredible photography of sumptuous food, incredible floral design and divine decor will be an inspiration. All this was created by A Joy Wallace Catering Production and Design Team! A Vizcaya wedding is in itself a feast for the eyes. This national treasure is one of my favorite South Florida wedding locations.
Every bride has a vision for her wedding! Alexis & Joey were looking to create an experience of 1920’s Hollywood style, glamorous with a touch of “bling”! The Joy Wallace team was listening and this wedding will have family and friends reflecting on their wedding for years to come.

Joy Wallace has set the bar for excellence and with this wedding she has raised the bar once again. You know that Alexis and Joey are basking in the glow of an incredible wedding that included rainbows and a full moon.

When planning your wedding you really want to pay attention to how every detail compliments the other. Some of the unique design features that Joy Wallace brought to this very sophisticated wedding were a checkerboard dance floor  in black and white, crystal candelabras and chandeliers along with the delicate use of lighting to create texture throughout the ballroom. You would have been thrilled with the white lounge areas, the very popular cigar bar and a coffee barrista that keep the energy of the wedding going into the night.

Upon seeing these images from Alexis and Joey’s wedding Joy had this to say–“Beautiful pictures Roy, you are so good at your profession. I love working with you!!!!!”
Thank you Joy! I love working with you too!!!
To see more of their exceptional talent- A Joy Wallace Catering Production and Design

Internet dating actually works!

Jennifer + Ryan | November 8, 2009

Hi, I’ve got a great wedding to share with you! The historic Coral Gables Congregational Church was the setting for the wedding of my son, Ryan to his beloved Jennifer, which was followed by a wild wedding reception at the Coral Gables Hyatt.
The internet is an amazing matchmaker…I meet so many couples that have met on EHarmony, Match, Plenty of Fish, JDate, Date My Pet…Yeah I know that last one many of you may not have heard of…but that’s how Ryan met Jennifer…she blew him a virtual kiss and he took it from there.
A wonderful first look...
For twenty eight years I have been a Miami wedding photographer. I have photographed over a thousand first looks, over a thousand first kisses as husband & wife, first dances and countless memorable moments. For each of those weddings, I have been intrigued by relationships, the nuances between a bride and groom…between parents and their children. Now it was my turn, not only was I the Father of the Groom, I was also the Best Man!

If you have ever been the parents of the Bride/Groom…the experience in the months leading up to that day and the wedding day itself is nothing short of surreal! It is a rollercoaster of emotions that I wish I could ride over and over again. I remember my thoughts that day…I thought about this amazing young man that not too long ago was just a little boy…wanting the day to be perfect for both of them, falling in love with Jennifer as her eyes danced with love during promises made…catching Ryan playing with the precious metal that signifies the deed done…now a husband. I can’t recall seeing him dance before this day…but he danced like nobody was watching…and at the end of the night wondering how this day flew by so fast!
My very own team of Miami’s finest wedding photographers–Ricardo Aguiar and Stella Hernandez along with my very close friend, Andrew Duany were there throughout the day to capture many amazing moments. Thank you!
A special thanks to Vince and Paul of Broadway Video for documenting moment after moment for my family. I have had a relationship with Vince and Broadway Video for over 24 years now…he’s an amazing video artist…and an incredible friend! By the way, both Ryan and Vince are Florida Gators and Jennifer had Ana Paz create a special Gator Groom’s cake that truly took Ryan by surprise.

Mom - Granny, he STILL calls you Granny Woodchuck! LOL! I’m glad you remember The Day, it’s all a blur to me. I just remember I had to crawl out of bed at 6 on Monday morning to go get all the critters out of their hotel and then go back to get Ryan & Jen to take them to the ship. Checking out of the Hyatt was definitely a blur – it was like a Chinese Fire Drill for the whole family. Roy! You didn’t take pix of that!! :)

Granny - WOW! I felt like I was there all over again. I can imagine you creating this and crying all the while. It was a beautiful wedding day! I miss Ryan…and I love our family. By the way, you have been a great dad – and still are.

Love, Granny Woodchuck (remember when Ryan used to call me that?)

Mom - Love what you did with the Blog post! :) I don’t remember much of anything about The Day either and I didn’t have anything to drink except the champagne toast!! All that work and planning and running around and poof! It goes by so fast, you don’t realize that the “kids” are off on their honeymoon and you’re sitting there with Mom-mom and Granny and babysitting the fur-kids and where did everybody go? What did we do? Did we dance (I think so) and have fun (yes)? Did we make the Hyatt people crazy (nope, they were wonderful!) Did we eat Gator Cake until we turned green? (yup!) :)

You have to date a few gorilla’s before you meet your Tarzan | Loren + David get married in the Jungle!

Hi there and thanks for stopping by! Today’s love story is another testament to the power of destiny and finding your “bershet”– your soul-mate. For me, Loren and David’s Miami wedding experience was a delight to photograph!

Loren shared this pearl of wisdom with me: “Its funny how when you least expect it you find your other half.”

And I love this snippet of how they met and became engaged: “We met at dinner with mutual friends. I wasn’t planning to go but decided last minute and was late as usual so there was one seat open right next to David… we immediately clicked. He was warm and so funny.”…“The night David proposed I had no idea. It was the night before New Years during a romantic dinner- he told me he couldn’t imagine starting the New Year without completely starting it together…that was how we started 2009!”
Loren and David were married at the tropical paradise that is Jungle Island in Miami surrounded by wonderfully loving family and great friends. Loren is one of four sisters that are amazingly close with a lot of terrific nieces and nephews…and David’s grandfather is his Best man…that is so cool! And get this…Rabbi Abramowitz was Loren’s parents Rabbi when they had their Bar and Bat Mitzvah’s, their wedding and the weddings of Loren’s three sisters!
Loren shared her feelings of anticipation with me as her parents escorted her down the aisle:“I remember I started to walk down the aisle and had butterflies but the minute I saw David standing at the end I was absolutely calm and couldn’t wait to get to the end of the aisle so we could begin our lives together.”

A few details: Wedding Venue: Jungle Island; Floral artistry: Petal Productions; Bridal Makeup & Hair: Tatiana Peralta; Wedding Reception music: Marcia Mitchell Music; Wedding Videographer: Senderey Video; Miami Wedding Photographer: Roy Llera Photographers
Enjoy their amazing wedding video!
To say that their wedding was a wild one would be an understatement; with music provided by none other than the Marcia Mitchell band. Marcia and her master musicians created an ambiance that could not be tamed…and when one of those gorilla’s showed up…he just made a monkey of himself.
Loren shared with me her thoughts about her wedding day: “Our wedding night was unforgettable; we danced until we literally couldn’t dance anymore. From the band to the flowers to the amazing food (including banana splits!) it was like a fairy tale. Roy and his team didn’t miss a second of the evening!”
Loren and David, on behalf of Ricardo, Stella and myself—Thank you for an amazing wedding experience. We are honored by your decision to choose only the best that Miami has to offer in wedding photography.
Have a great day and stop in again soon…we have so much to share with you!

Loren - Thanks Roy for capturing every part of the night! Your team did a great job!

“I asked her to marry me on a bridge” | Jennifer + Greg are engaged.

Hello and thanks for visiting! Today I want to share with you an engaging story as told by Greg, the guy that asked Jennifer to marry him. I love hearing these stories and it is intriguing how very personal and the amount of thoughtful, romantic planning goes into this very special moment.

“That bridge is special to us because… she told me that every Saturday during the summer brides getting married in the area would come to that bridge for pictures.”

“…I took her out for a dance lesson. She always said that she wanted to take dance lessons…”

How many times have you been on a date and the rain catches you, you take her hand and find a lonely doorway or you happen to have an umbrella that just draws you that much closer.. So when Greg shared with me that the weekend that he met Jennifer it rained and the day that he asked her to marry him it rained…so the planned walk around the city turned into a early dinner in hopes that the rain would subside. “After we finished dinner and I had gone to the bathroom twice to look at the ring!!!”… the rain stopped long enough for their walk to that bridge and as planned Greg took a knee and ask Jennifer to marry him and after a positive response and a hug that you want to last forever…it starts to rain again…who cares! They just got engaged and with that feeling anything can happen and it’s wonderful!

Upon entering their suite at the hotel, a hundred roses were awaiting Jennifer and the cork popped, the champagne was poured and a toast for love everlasting sealed the deal. “I was just so happy to begin my life with Jennifer that all I could think about was the moment”
Enjoy an amazing slide show of this beautiful beginning!

“The engagement shoot was a wonderful time for Jennifer and me and we loved every minute of it. Pictures are very important for me and Jennifer as we aren’t together every day, and when I look at the pictures from the engagement shoot I think about that day and how happy we are and it makes me smile.  Knowing that that photo shoot was kind of the “unofficial” start to our wedding celebration is something very special… it is an honor having you photograph such a special occasion for the two of us”
…and the day they had their engagement session…it rained…and then the sun came out and somewhere I am sure there was a rainbow. Well, we are so looking forward to an amazing wedding and partly cloudy skies with no chance of rain!
Come again!

And they were never, ever the same | Julie + Jason are one

“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.” (Anonymous)

When I asked Julie to share how she found her “bershect” her soul mate, this quote became all the more noteworthy. Allow me to share with you what Julie shared with me.

“Mutual friends thought we would be perfect for each other…. so we agreed to be set up. After talking on the phone, we decided to meet up for a drink. One drink turned into four hours of talking and one incredible first date. Before the end of the first date, we made plans for the second, and have been inseparable ever since. We both just knew that we had found our other half. “

Well Julie and Jason shared with family and friends their love and respect for each other in a beautiful Temple Emanuel wedding in Miami Beach.

Special thanks to Robin Preston of Azure Event Production for her constant attention to detail at this spectacular wedding!

A few details: Julie’s Wedding Dress: Leggenda Bridal Boutique; Floral Artistry by Dalsimer; Executive Caterers; Entertainment: Music Machine; Cake: Ana Paz Cakes; Miami Wedding Photography: Roy Llera Photographers

Enjoy this beautiful wedding slide show!

So all you single people out there…be nice to everyone you meet…they may just introduce you to your soul mate!  Thanks Julie and Jason for an amazing  Miami wedding experience…

Have a great weekend!
