Kathryn and Douglas ~ An Eden Roc Wedding
Kathryn and Douglas | Married
An Eden Roc Miami Beach Wedding Photography
I had been looking forward to photographing Kathryn (Katie) and Douglas’s Eden Roc Resort wedding, in Miami Beach, ever since I got the call from Katie’s mom. I had the pleasure of photographing Katie’s brother, Jeffrey and Rina’s wedding, and now the opportunity to photograph another major event in the family was much anticipated! Enjoy this Eden Roc Miami Beach Wedding photography!
It was a perfect spring day for a wedding…perfect light and ideal weather – a delight for this Miami wedding photographer!
Most of you have seen the movie Titanic and remember the iconic moment on the prow of the ship when Leonardo DiCaprio shouts, “I’m the king of the world”. When we saw this great prop on the beach, we created that moment again as Katie and Doug shared their own Titanic moment.
This is one of those images that never cease to amaze me…she’s such a timeless beauty!
When I’m asked to describe my style of photography, the first thought that always comes to mind is “timeless”! I want to create photographs that, when viewed today or 30 years from now, will have a quality in them that will always be cherished (and never “dated”!).
Look at Douglas’s expression in the image above. Then take a look at the image below. It’s so easy to imagine a young Douglas, at a wedding years ago, in the role of ring-bearer. Their expressions are so similar! Talk about moments at a wedding!
There is something so special about the bond between a Bride and her Dad, so it’s no surprise that wedding traditions focus on this special relationship. You can feel the energy and the emotion the moment Dad gives Katie away!
Both of their expressions and their eye to eye contact attest to an awareness of the moment – that they are really here, getting married.
As a Dad who saw his son get married, I know first hand that getting our kids to milestones: a first birthday, driving a car, graduating from high school, and then off to college are so important to us as parents. The expression of pride and contentment in Dad’s face below along with a sense that “we got her this far” is a very strong life long experience. Bravo!
Here’s that moment that the ring almost goes on and you’ve gotta give it a little help (see that eye contact between me and Douglas!). Capturing these memories is what it’s all about for me!
A favorite moment of mine and no doubt for Douglas and Katie as well. Here they are, walking back from the altar, after their “first” kiss, as husband and wife!
Wedding decor is so important! Here, the floral design is impeccable. From Katie’s amazing bouquet, elegant boutonnieres for the guys, and stunning floral arrangements, Petal Productions did an amazing job!
Their stunning cake to matched the wedding day. Artfully styled and baked by none other than Ana Paz Cakes.
A very special thank you to Katie and Doug for allowing me to be there to capture your moments!
If you are planning a wedding then you’ve come to realize that it’s a momentous project, one filled with both excitement and the stress of putting it all together. May I make a suggestion? Bring a great wedding planner into your life! Katie had the wonderful talents of Melissa Barbier of Luxurious Events. Additionally, Karla Lola did an amazing job with hair and make-up!
Now give me a call, let’s talk about your day, and discuss how I can enhance the wedding day experience for you in so many ways!
