No matter what is going on in our ever changing world ~ one thing remains constant ~ people fall in love and get married!

With the elections now a moment in history, I thought I would share with you the Cathedral of Saint Mary wedding of Kathia and Rubens.

Kathia and Rubens got ready for their wedding at the beautiful Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables and even though traditionally they did not want to see each other until the moment that Kathia walked into the church ~ they wisely chose to create some beautiful portraits at the Colonnade before the ceremony separately.

And then after the wedding together as we still had some great daylight to work with the beautiful architecture of the Westin Colonnade.

So even though you may be tempted to do all the images before the ceremony ~ tradition and your grandmother is telling you that it’s bad luck there is this option which works quite well and it will assure you the opportunity to spend some time greeting guest during cocktails!

Love the expressions of love and the sanctity of a faith driven marriage  that these images represent.

So when Amy and Craig were planning their Miami Beach Resort wedding they turned to Mom to execute exactly what they wanted ~ their wedding!

You may think of the first look as that between Bride and Groom but I must comment that I think the first look is the one when Dad sees his daughter as a Bride for the first time ~ very touching these moments are as seen in the image below.

I recently had a blog post “God is in the detail” that spoke of doing things right and thorough and those details that resonate the spirituality of weddings. The image below has so much meaning as it is the wedded couples Kiddush cup and the tallit that will embrace the couple during the rabbi’s blessing.

The Starlight ballroom at the Miami Beach Resort is awesome as it has amazing views of Miami and Miami Beach, a ceiling that gives you a sense that you are celebrating under the stars! The beautiful decor was created by Petal Productions and the party was a huge success with City Lights of Chase Music

Our Lady Of Lebanon Catholic Wedding and Westin Colonnade Celebration

 

As a Miami Wedding photographer for over 25 years, I must say that I have experienced thousands of incredible moments, witness hundreds of traditions that relate to the wedding experience. At Myriam and Salim’s Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church wedding there was a soft rain falling ~ and someone stated that it’s good luck.

So I did a little research…thank you Google… It’s good luck! It comes from several cultures mainly from the Hindu with the idea that a wet knot is harder to untie. Since marriage is often referred to as tying the knot. This thought brought back a moment that I experienced many years ago when upon seeing the Bride tearing up because of the rain just before walking down the aisle…a priest of Irish persuasion stated “Don’t you worry my dear…the angels in heaven are crying tears of joy on your wedding day” and with that the bride believed, tears stopped and on we went with their wedding.

Love this point of view ~ not only is it a great shot of the dress but you get to see so many happy reactions of the guests as Myriam walks in with her Dad.

So with the gentle tears of the angels, Myriam and Salim married and celebrated to their marriage and the luck they both share in finding each other! Ohh ~  finding each other ~ they have a great “how we met each other story and that’s in their engagement blog post !

The celebration took place in the Rotunda of the iconic Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables. This is such a grand location ~ the minute you walk in you’re in awe of this beautiful space!

They have this balcony that surrounds the room that allows for some amazing vantage points!

As one celebrates a first anniversary it is a time for reflection on the year that has just passed and better yet to reflect on that amazing day when you both become one ~ So today I wanted to share with you the Coral Gables Congregational wedding of Danay and Roberto ~ today is their first anniversary!

As I reflect on weddings that I have had the pleasure of experiencing, I am entranced by the love stories that I get to capture, the love and emotions displayed ~ photographing a wedding is to me like a kid going to Disney ~ totally excited for the day ahead, looking forward to the wedding experience and capturing their story ~ it’s pretty intense!

I absolutely love this image ~ I think of the Royal palm trees as pillars of the church.

Danay was the perfect Bride ~ trusting in the wedding vendors that she chose to pull off a flawless wedding and so on her wedding day she had a blast!

 

A few details~ The wedding took place at the beautiful Coral Gables Congregational Church and the celebration followed at the National Hotel on South Miami Beach. The event was coordinated and decorated by Flowers By Vivian Colls. Hair and MakeUp By Marz and the yummy cake was by Rosie of Elegant Temptations!
