So often I remind our wedding couples to enjoy their day, to slow down and just take it all in. Months of planning and the day finally gets here and before you know it along comes the last dance. But to cherish each moment with purpose, to be in that moment is important so that when viewing your photographs the moments will replay in your mind triggered by the image. As Miami wedding photographers we are passionate about capturing the many moments that comprise your wedding day as all you have after this amazing day are the photographs.

Happy anniversary to you both Elizabeth and Robert! It was a year ago today that Elizabeth took this amazing walk with her Dad to marry the love of her life, Robert in the beautiful St Jude Catholic Church on Brickell.

One of the most touching moments in a reception is when the Bride dances with her Dad. You know that as a little girl she danced with Dad balanced on his feet as he swept her across  the floor. It’s a very emotional moment for the parents!

The ballroom at the Westin Colonnade is a unique space that as you can readily see makes for an amazing wedding experience!

Marriage is about love and a new beginning. The opening chapter to a life of adventure, challenges and the rewards of living a life with the love of our life. Before every newly married couple is a book yet to be filled with the story of two lives brought together. What their story is nobody knows ~ but with every anniversary, every child born, vacations taken and the ups and downs of life,  this book will develop into a marvelous story of lives lived.

For us as photographers we realize that we are illustrating this wonderful new beginning. As years pass, the images will take on a life of their own with children and grandchildren marveling with joy at seeing Mom in her wedding dress and Dad with such emotion as he married their Mother. The photos will provide an anchor to the joy, respect and love that their parents feel for each other and the love they feel for those around them.

They’ll see in the image below, their great grandmothers sharing in the joy of being witness to another chapter in their lives beginning as their grandchildren begin theirs.

Generations will understand the beginning of their marriage is anchored in love for God and their Jewish faith. The caress of Rabbi Bookman’s blessings ~ prayers ~ a foundation of strength to begin their lives together.

Just married and the exuberant expressions of “just married” across their faces says so much.

The excitement and beauty of a Bride as she is raised during a Hora with her beloved ~ in  a sense spiritually supported by the community of family and friends ~ a moment truly shared between them a she looks into his eyes with pure joy!

The moment that 2011 ended and 2012 began and I am reminded of the New Years Eve scene in “When Harry Met Sally”  “And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it’s not because I’m lonely, and it’s not because it’s New Year’s Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.” Harry Burns ~When Harry Met Sally”

5,4,3,2,1 Happy New Years!!!! This moment is so indicative of the celebration that we experienced that night. Carefully look at this image ~ it’s so tells the story!

We are amazed with all the beautiful weddings that we get to photograph and all the amazing moments that we get to capture at each one of these events! As photographer we are so blessed to experience love, joy and your history in the making. Well Sarah and Matthew’s Jewish wedding was a joy to photograph from the beauty of  Moms, Dads and Grandparents experiencing the love of their lives take the next step in life to an intimate Ketubah signing, a joyful ceremony and one incredible party!

Love this moment between Sarah and Mom ~ a real moment captured by a sensitive eye. Quite often I ask my Brides ~ are you looking for fantasy or reality? The answer I get from those Brides that choose us is “reality”. Their looking to have captured those subtle moments, the moments that mean the most that are not so obvious.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fantasy and whimsy in the images that we create! I just love this sweeping vision of beauty ~ a lightness of being “beautiful”. Now when the above image was taken, so was the one below!

A great little detail captured by Cristobal ~ truly an intuitive stroke of artistic genius!

When I tell you anything can happen at a wedding and how we are always ready to get that moment ~ another great image by Cris!

Would you believe this is the valet parking area of the Four Seasons Miami…this hotel is one of my favorite place to photograph ~ there’s so many wonderful visuals to work with!

These guys are truly into the moments and definitely love the camera!

Flying high during the Hora ~ you go to love the exuberance and joy that this dance takes the wedding energy to!

Moments in our lives are so fleeting ~ It was just 5years ago that Sarah and Matthew met. I have no doubts that they can recall moments as the first time they met, a first kiss, that “AHHA” moment when they realized within each other that this is the “ONE” ~

Tomorrow they’ll be getting married surrounded by loved ones of a lifetime at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Miami.

Moments will take place on this wonderful day and they will burn in their collective memories but as their conversations in life grow short the moments captured photographically by our passionate eyes will rekindle this day as if it were yesterday.

Epiphany Catholic Church   Four Seasons Miami Wedding

It started with a phone call that led to a blind date ~ Luis calls and Lauren answers ~

“Lou – well-known lover of the arts – has tickets to a concert the next Monday, and his date (his beautiful cousin, Nathalie) has recently bowed-out.  Would Lauren be interested in going along?  Without skipping a beat, an enthusiastic Lauren says, “yes.””

“Two days later, the pair are to rendezvous after work at the single most romantic place in the Magic City: the Douglas Road MetroRail Station.  Lou arrives in his black sports car; Lauren in her silver train.  Lou is better looking than Lauren had hoped.  Lauren is as beautiful as her Facebook pictures, but, to Lou’s disappointment, is not wearing a bikini in real life.  They lock eyes, say hello, and ride off into the sunset…”

“To a concert where, to this day, Lauren does not remember the acts.  What she does remember is that: 1- she was so nervous on the way to the concert that Lou told her to “stop shaking”; 2- the concert was on a college campus, so there was no alcohol with which to drown the butterflies in her stomach; 3- she couldn’t hear anything Lou said, nor could she identify a single song she heard; and, 4- she dropped Lou’s phone in the toilet and didn’t tell him*.

*Lauren would tell Lou sometime in 2008 that she had “dropped it in the sink.”  She then SOMEHOW disassembled it and blow-dried it back to functionality.  To this day, Lou believes that she threw it in a toilet, and enlisted someone else to help her dry it.*”

“Lou, on the other hand, recalls every detail of that first night together – from the music, to Lauren’s nerves, to driving her home and asking if he could call on her again.  There was something about this girl… and his phone smelled like Scrubbing Bubbles.”

Four and a half years later and Lauren & Lou have been together ever since.  They have only been to one other concert because Lauren won’t remember the music anyway, and they have gone through many, many cell phones. But they still love each other, and are so looking forward to this weekend to share with family and friends the wedding of their lives at the beautiful Epiphany Catholic Church and a joyous celebration at the fabulous Four Seasons Miami!

Temple Judea Coral Gables Wedding

The Rabbi and witnesses had just left the study after the signing of the Ketubah. I find myself alone with Deborah and Jeremy. For me this moment is so wonderful! It’s a time on their wedding day where it’s just the two of them, quiet, pensive and you can see by Deborah’s expression joyful with the anticipation of the moment their are united under their Chupah.

We had already shared a day together at their amazing engagement session and that just put these two at ease with me. You can see it’s as if I was not there in this moment. I get so excited being a witness to a special time in the lives of so many couples and families.

Miami Wedding Engagement Portrait

They met in an elevator ~ Melina and Paul would exchange glances and a smile. Months would pass when they each eyed each other during a local happy hour ~ as she was getting the nerve up to approach him ~ Paul beat her to the punch and made his move! Now these two are quite shy and this was a major moment…that was cut short by a co worker of Paul’s spilling a drink  on Melina at which point she made her departure ~

But not before he got her phone number! But after the experience in the bar, Paul was sure that Melina was not in the mood to hear from him again ~ until they met three weeks later ~ in the elevator! Based on her sweet demeanor and realizing that she wasn’t upset ~ no sooner did she get into her office that she received a text message! The rest is history!

It’s stories like this that endears me to each and every couple that I get to experience on their wedding day! Call me corny, sappy ~ I have been known to shed a tear or two at many a wedding. I love weddings and knowing the importance of this awesome day for not only the couple but their parents, family and friends inspires me to create an amazing story!

So this weekend as many of you are planning your own wedding, I’ll be at St Patrick’s Catholic Church on Miami Beach for a beautiful wedding and then it’s Jungle Island for one amazing party. Think of us as your photographers as we would love the opportunity to get to know you and capture your moments of love!

St Theresa Church of the Little Flower Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove Wedding

We are so excited that this weekend we’ll be photographing Veronica and Ernesto’s Miami wedding! But before this wonderful day we had the opportunity to connect and get to know each other!

We hopped into my car as time was of the essence and went to what I like to call the Gables roundabout ~ great little vignettes of Coral Gables with great architecture and lovely foliage!

As we traveled from location to location ~ I got to know how they met and the beginnings of a love story that manana culminates into a wedding ceremony at St Theresa Church Of The Little Flower and celebration to follow at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove!

Vizcaya Miami Museum and Gardens Wedding

When I first met Anne Marie, I was met by this warm, charming energetic Bride that just radiated positivity! That same energy and spirit really helped her plan the perfect wedding for her and Todd, her fiancé. From the start, Anne Marie was extremely organized, and I really appreciated that because from the engagement session to the wedding day, things ran as smooth as they possibly could on such a hectic event! For those of you who are already married, you know what I mean!

As a wedding professional, I make sure that all my bride’s details are my first priority. I am always available to talk about their day and that gives us the opportunity to take full advantage on the wedding day. Knowing what kinds of photographs Anne Marie and Todd were looking for really helped me deliver exactly what they envisioned while allowing me to showcase my creativity as well. It also helped soothe their minds knowing that everything has been taken care of and that they could enjoy the wedding experience they were about to have!

Anne Marie and Todd were married in the breathtaking gardens of Vizcaya. If you’ve been there before, you know that just about anywhere you are in those gardens you can feel the air of romance! It really lends itself to the wedding itself; and being that both Anne Marie and Todd are so in love, it was the perfect setting for them.

St Jude Catholic Church Miami Wedding

When I first met Caroline, it was a perfect match of Bride and photographer ~ she loved the photography and most of all she trusted me! Trust in any relationship is important and trusting your wedding  team will assure you of having a blast at your wedding!

What we do as photographers is create a visual celebration of love, the beautiful traditions and customs that each of these wonderful events brings to life.

For Caroline and Francois, their faith in God is the foundation that their love in each other is founded. Their wedding at the beautiful St Jude Catholic Church in Miami was a delight to experience.

The joy that you see in her smile says it all as she turns to share with family and friends her feelings of joy!

I learned an interesting custom with their wedding! In Haitian weddings, the Best Man and Maid of Honor are married in life, not necessarily to each other but married. This is so when times come that a newly married couple seek advice and counsel ~ they can turn to ones that themselves have experienced the adventure of marriage.

Speaking of support, you ever notice how wonderful the couples expressions are as soon as they start walking down the aisle after the wedding? Just married ~ surrounded by family and friends that are reflecting that love energy back!

I just love this moment ~ of love so beautifully seen in Caroline’s expression.

Now this entire event was planned by Caron Cole of Epicure Gourmet Catering, Production and Decor. Now the Epicure Market is famous for an amazing array of amazing foods from all over the world ~ so just imagine how delicious the food and desserts were at this wedding!

I can attest to the deliciousness ~ it was yummy!
