Dreams seem to be a common thread with Mayrelis as we touched on a 5 year old Princess dreaming of her Prince Charming in our blog post featuring Mayrelis and Maurice’s engagement portrait session.

The reality of the wedding dreams of a young girl as she becomes a beautiful woman is those dreams do become reality. Once engaged those dreams quickly become daydreams as I have no doubts the planning of a wedding becomes a consuming occupation! As the lead wedding coordinator for A Joy Wallace Catering Production and Design, Mayrelis lives the dreams of countless Brides, assuring each engaged couple execution of their wedding dreams. So imagine planning your big day a year in advance while executing the dreams of your Brides at the same time!

Speaking of dreams, so many Brides comment that their wedding was like  a dream and the photographs bring to mind so many moments experienced.

I know as a Dad of a son recently married that having children leads to thoughts and hopes for their future and a happily ever after when it comes to your own finding the “one”! I love the look on Dad’s face as he has the traditional Father-Daughter dance~

The moment of a gallant kiss by Dad passes in only a moment but then that’s why we are there ~ to capture these fleeting experiences!

From Converse to Cracking Lobster ~ A Cape Cod Wedding

Destination weddings can be a blast ~ we get to go to awesome locations (in one month we were in Peru, Ecuador and Cape Cod) indulge in the culture and experience some pretty amazing customs that come with the new territory. They tend to be smaller more intimate affairs with family and the very closest of friends.

Love these shoes that Christopher presented to his groomsmen just before the wedding!

Weddings are such inspirational affairs between two people in love as well as those special lifelong relationships with family. This moment captures the exuberance and joy that a father feels for his baby girl!

~ as this moment captures the excitement of a first dance as husband and wife.

Destination weddings also give us an opportunity to create images in settings and locations that are new to us ~ presenting the challenge of coming away from these events with moments of love and celebration between family and friends but also a sense of place.

I had the wonderful experience of photographing Lourdes and Chris the next day in and around locations on Cape Cod. It seemed like every bend of the road was another beautiful scenic vista ~ a canvas with which to create some amazing wedding portraits!

I am filled with such gratitude that I get to capture moments of love, joy and celebration ~ an honor to be there for my couples and deliver these captured moments for them and future generations to delight in!

All Was Not Quiet In Quito!

A Quito, Ecuador Wedding

 

 

Although I feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to photograph all my brides and grooms on their big day, I felt twice as fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to Quito, Ecuador for Diana and Nick’s fairy tale wedding! Cristobal and I spent a few days in Quito, taking in the beautiful landscapes, the genuinely nice people, and a very different culture, really getting into the mood of this unique wedding.

What’s unique about this experience was that we were able to be intimate with the families before the actual wedding, which we don’t usually get to do until the wedding day. We spent days before even a day of travel afterwards with her family and so the wedding day itself felt like a family affair to even us!

For both Diana and Nick, this was a very intimate affair and letting loose was the plan. The party was over the top and every detail was paid close attention to. The food was spectacular and the variety of bands she had playing her wedding never gave anyone a chance to sit!

From top to bottom, this was one of those weddings I will never forget and one of the couples I hope to never lose touch with! In fact, we learned that they are expecting a baby and we hope to be a part of that new chapter in their lives.

Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Wedding and a Four Seasons Miami Celebration

 

 

I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for weeks now! Gabriella and Sergio are getting married!! You may be thinking, “Well, who are they?” Well, they are just one of the funniest and most spontaneous couple I’ve ever met! My engagement session with them was like our “first date,” where I was able to get to know them, what makes them tick as a couple, and really enjoying their company.

We had a spectacular time during Viernes Culturales, a mini festival in Miami’s Calle Ocho that’s held every last Friday of the month. For me, the photos are reminiscent of a couple on an actual date and I loved that I was able to capture the intimacy and fun of the night! All those laughs, smiles, and stolen moments are sure to be ever present at the wedding this weekend. Congratulations Gabriella and Sergio!

 

So this weekend I get to experience the beautiful Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Miami and the amazing Four Seasons Miami! Love that I’ll be working alongside Eric Trelles of ET Events as well!
