Traditions Honored ~ Marlene + Ramandeep have a beautiful Sikh Wedding

Marlene + Ramandeep  |  Married

South Florida Sikh Wedding

It’s inspiring to find young people getting married honoring traditions! In the wedding ceremony of Marlene and Raman, that was so true! They’re a young, extremely fun couple who you’d never expect to be very traditional in their roots, but they are. It’s refreshing to see that they uphold their family’s heritages and desire to continue their legacies. I had an amazing time at their wedding! I learned that being Sikh is more than just a religion. Their happy way of being and openness makes any stranger feel welcome and invited. I learned it was a way of living. They had a beautiful ceremony at the Sikh Society of South Florida and their wedding reception took place at The Hilton Miami Downtown. Enjoy the show above, the images below and you’ll get a sense of what I wish to share with you!

Like a Super Mario Bros. game time flies ~ and our boys grow up to become young men

Noah  | Bar Mitzvah

Photographed By Roy and Cristobal

Temple Beth Am Miami Bar Mitzvah

I just saw Noah’s Mom the other day and to hear her describe the change in Noah as he becomes a young man is exciting.  Noah recently became a Bar Mitzvah at the beautiful Temple Beth Am in South Miami. As a Dad with three sons myself, I know how these wonderful years just fly by too quickly!

When I first met Noah, I learned of his passion for taking apart and rebuilding computers and he has the most amazing collection of old computers and and video games that you can imagine. T shirts and jeans were the order of that session and I was impressed with the handsome dude so sharply dressed on his Bar Mitzvah day!

I am very fortunate to have the honor of being able to photograph the Bar Mitzvah ceremony at Temple Beth Am Miami! It’s important to capture every moment and nuance at these wonderful events in a young man’s life and being there for the services is awesome. I just love this moment between Mom and Noah!

The Amazing Bottle Dancers created an incredible entrance for Noah that took everyone by surprise! These guys were hilarious and so entertaining! They not only brought Noah in but performed the coolest bottle dance!

A moment between Noah and Mom celebrating on a packed dance floor ~ this party was a nonstop celebration! I touched on moments and I know anyone that has chosen wisely in Roy Llera Photographers will attest to the fact that we are incredibly intuitive to the many moments that transpire in the course of an event as important as this ~ not only the obvious action but the reactions as well!

These glasses are so fun and go along with the Super Mario Brothers theme of the party decor!

The decor was in a word ~ SUPER! Karen Cohen and her Super talented team  at Always Flowers and Events created the most amazing environment!

…and his phone smelled like Scrubbing Bubbles!

Lauren + Luis  |  Engaged

Photographed By Roy

Epiphany Catholic Church   Four Seasons Miami Wedding

It started with a phone call that led to a blind date ~ Luis calls and Lauren answers ~

“Lou – well-known lover of the arts – has tickets to a concert the next Monday, and his date (his beautiful cousin, Nathalie) has recently bowed-out.  Would Lauren be interested in going along?  Without skipping a beat, an enthusiastic Lauren says, “yes.””

“Two days later, the pair are to rendezvous after work at the single most romantic place in the Magic City: the Douglas Road MetroRail Station.  Lou arrives in his black sports car; Lauren in her silver train.  Lou is better looking than Lauren had hoped.  Lauren is as beautiful as her Facebook pictures, but, to Lou’s disappointment, is not wearing a bikini in real life.  They lock eyes, say hello, and ride off into the sunset…”

“To a concert where, to this day, Lauren does not remember the acts.  What she does remember is that: 1- she was so nervous on the way to the concert that Lou told her to “stop shaking”; 2- the concert was on a college campus, so there was no alcohol with which to drown the butterflies in her stomach; 3- she couldn’t hear anything Lou said, nor could she identify a single song she heard; and, 4- she dropped Lou’s phone in the toilet and didn’t tell him*.

*Lauren would tell Lou sometime in 2008 that she had “dropped it in the sink.”  She then SOMEHOW disassembled it and blow-dried it back to functionality.  To this day, Lou believes that she threw it in a toilet, and enlisted someone else to help her dry it.*”

“Lou, on the other hand, recalls every detail of that first night together – from the music, to Lauren’s nerves, to driving her home and asking if he could call on her again.  There was something about this girl… and his phone smelled like Scrubbing Bubbles.”

Four and a half years later and Lauren & Lou have been together ever since.  They have only been to one other concert because Lauren won’t remember the music anyway, and they have gone through many, many cell phones. But they still love each other, and are so looking forward to this weekend to share with family and friends the wedding of their lives at the beautiful Epiphany Catholic Church and a joyous celebration at the fabulous Four Seasons Miami!

We can’t wait either!
