“It was perfect, It was magical, It was romantic!” Kendall + Brandt’s Engagement Story

Hi Everyone!

It’s amazing what can happen when three people get together for an afternoon of fun. As we stepped out on Las Olas Blvd, Brandt confided to me-he wasn’t all that thrilled with having his picture taken but being the  stand up guy that he is, he gave his all and showed Kendall how much he loves her. After hearing how he proposed, this comes as no surprise. I asked Kendall to share this story with me so I could share it with you.

“So I got ready and asked where we were going and he said it was a surprise, thinking nothing of it at all I just went with the flow.  We get in the car and pull up to the Emerald Grande.  At this point I am very confused and don’t know what is going on but very excited because I know they have a ton of restaurants and bars attached.”

“We park the car and enter into the elevator and Brandt pushed PH (penthouse).  Now I am really curious.   We get out of the elevator and he opens the door.  The room is dark with rose petals scattered on the floor, tea candles everywhere, a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne on ice, chocolate covered strawberries, and Michael Buble playing in the background.  I was speechless and the view was incredible.  Overlooking the ocean and finally the rain had stopped.”

“After taking everything in, Brandt popped the bottle of Champagne and poured both of us a glass.  We toasted and Brandt said “This toast is to the best three years of my life, I love you and I am so happy I found you”

Aww, I was still in shock of everything he had done for our Anniversary and I had only bought him a CD.  He sure showed me up!  We continued to drink our glass of champagne, enjoy the music and of course enjoy the view!

Brandt then poured the second glass of champagne.  He toasted and said, “Now this toast is to the rest of our lives, Kendall will you marry me?”  Brandt pulled the ring out of his pocket and got down on one knee. I began to shake and could not believe what was really happening.  It was perfect, it was magical, it was romantic!  I will never forget that moment and all the feelings that were going on at that time when we made that last toast!”

Enjoy this wonderful slide show of Kendall & Brandt’s engagement session!

I was so happy to hear what Kendall had to say after seeing her engagement photos: “I am so excited to have you be part of our special day!” and we are thrilled that we’ll be at your Ritz Carlton Ft Lauderdale wedding too!

Kendall’s Mom shared her feelings with me after seeing the slide show: “I just saw the slide show of Kendall’s & Brandt’s engagement pictures—-they were absolutely amazing—they brought tears of joy.  I was so happy to see your creativity as a photographer bring those photo’s together to tell the story.  I LOVED THEM. The beach pictures are beautiful actually, they are SPECTACULAR!!!!”

Danay Garcia - Beautiful

Flowers, champagne, chocolate covered strawberry’s and Andrew on one knee!: Eryn + Andrew’s Engagement Story

Eryn and Andrew’s  Miami Beach engagement session took me back to the beach scene in the movie “The Way We Were” and there is something wonderfully romantic about a walk on a cold, windy beach that just encourages cozy, engaging photographs.

As weddings are each a unique display of love and commitment, how couples become engaged are wonderfully creative and as a Miami wedding photographer I love to hear how the “How did he ask you to marry him?” story. Well Eryn and Andrew’s engagement story is absolutely brilliant!

“Andrew worked with almost everyone in my life to pull off the world’s greatest surprise! My boss Karen and my co-worker Peggy tricked me into going to the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne in order to find a replacement venue for our holiday party, because they told me that our current venue had a flood. Well once I got to the Ritz I was taken on a tour of different ballrooms only to find the last room covered in flowers, champagne, chocolate covered strawberry’s and Andrew on one knee! He told me that he loved me very much, he wanted to spend the rest of my life with him and would I marry him? Of course I was jumping up and down and said yes right away!!! We popped open the champers and celebrated all weekend long!!!”

This is the image that graces their amazing “Save The Date” card.

So enjoy this engaging engagement portrait session slide show!

Thank you both Eryn and Andrew for an amazingly romantic engagement session. We are so looking forward to your June wedding at the beautiful Mirasol Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens. And for more great engagement sessions click ENGAGEMENT

Have a great weekend!

The Magic Blanket: Candice + Jonathan

I have always felt that we cross paths with our “true love” before we realize that they are the ONE…and so Candice and Jonathan met in law school and became friends…being told that Candice was engaged (but wasn’t) Jonathan respectfully kept the relationship platonic and sincere…upon learning that she was available… Jonathan made the comment “You always have someone and just think about me this time”.

Well at that time Candice was living in Florida and Jonathan was living in New York. Well one visit led to another, then another and they became a couple.

So you’re probably wondering about the Magic Blanket…sounds like a Disney storyline is coming. Well one day while walking through Central Park in NYC, Jonathan invited Candice to have a seat on this blanket that just happened to be available in the park. You can imagine the line of questions coming from two attorneys. C: What do you mean just sit on this blanket? Whose blanket is it anyways? J: Just sit on the blanket… J: So are you thirsty? And the “magic blanket” came up with some Champagne…after an interesting conversation (ask them) Jonathan stated that “I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you”.

Well I think you can imagine by these beautiful engagement portraits that Candice said “YES”…and the wedding is this Saturday! Enjoy the slide show and as the beach image states “Show some love” with a sweet comment!

This is what Candice + Jonathan had to say about their experience with us:

Roy,

We knew when we were taking pictures and talking with you that you had an incredible eye and vision to go along with it. Seeing the pictures and slide show validates our belief – you made our story come alive! We cannot wait to see what you do with the wedding!

Thanks!

Tuk-Tuking in Antigua, Guatemala: Jennifer + Rolando

Hello everyone! This year has gotten off to a wonderful start and we are so honored to be the wedding photographers for several amazing couples.

Today I want to share with you the La Antigua, Guatemala destination wedding of Jennifer and Rolando. Rolando would spend summers with family in Guatemala and when they started to think where they wanted to get married—La Antigua it was! Established in 1543, La Antigua is one of the best preserved and charming of colonial cities in Spanish America.

They chose the Casa Santo Domingo, once a beautiful convent to have their wedding weekend with a tight group of family and friends. The weekend started off with a rehearsal dinner at the Meson Panza Verde. What a beautiful restaurant! Several wonderful toasts and one of Rolando’s Ta-Ta’s (aunt) taking a dip in a fountain endeared me to this wedding and I knew that this was going to be a fabulous wedding to photograph.

If a wedding is like a cake then the Day After Session was the icing! Wedding day schedules quite often allow a few moments with the Bride and Groom and to have a couple of hours with Jennifer and Rolando was heaven. We took off from Casa Santo Domingo in a pair of Tuk-Tuks. A Tuk-Tuk is a small passenger vehicle that resembles a three-wheeled motorcycle with a metal or canvas frame. As we cruised along ancient stone streets, we found wonderful arches, doorways and numerous little nooks and crannies to photograph in.

Life should be an adventure and Jennifer and Rolando’s Guatemala Destination Wedding is an amazing start to a great marriage! So enjoy this amazing wedding slide show and thanks for showing up on my Blog for the latest adventures of Roy Llera Photographers!

Have a great day!

Miami Beach Wedding : Gillian & Alex

It’s an honor to photograph weddings! They each have a personality…that reflect those of the Bride and Groom.

Gillian and Alex’s wedding was a wonderful celebration of love and traditions. The Jewish wedding traditions create a meaningful link between past, present, and future. The moment I entered Gillian’s suite at the Miami Beach Resort, I was surrounded by tradition. The bottle of wine that was saved from Gillian’s Bat Mitzvah for the Bride’s parents toast, the details in her wedding dress in which she had veiling from her Grandmother’s wedding dresses, the beads from Grandmother’s dress that were worn on Gillian’s mother’s wedding dress…to the wearing of her Mother’s veil-Tradition!

The excitement and joy during the Tish when the men gathered around Alex, the Rabbi and the Fathers as they reviewed and signed the Ketubah and sang in celebration letting the ladies know that they are on their way. Then there’s the B’deken, the moment that the men escort Alex to Gillian, where he makes sure that this is the Bride he’s to marry and then lowers her veil.

I could go on and on about the beauty of a Jewish Marriage, the Kiddushin (betrothal ceremony) and the sheva b’rachot (seven blessings) under the Huppah, the breaking of the glass…Tradition! This wedding was a joy for myself and Ricardo Aguiar to photograph…Thank you Gillian and Alex_ Mazel Tov!!!

A few details: Wedding Venue: Miami Beach Resort; Kosher Wedding Caterer: Executive Caterers; Floral Artistry: Dalsimer; Wedding Music: Shajar Music
