I am so excited as I am about to experience Stacy and Haig’s St Mary Armenian Church wedding and  Ritz Carlton Ft Lauderdale celebration this coming weekend!!!

Tomorrow I will witness love in it’s most perfect moment ~ the beginning of a life of adventures, moments shared, other lives created ~ but let’s focus on the wedding day! Tomorrow I’ll capture the first look of a Father as he sees his daughter in her wedding gown, I’ll hold forever in my camera the moment that Haig sees Stacy as his Bride! The first kiss as husband and wife, a first dance ~ notice how tomorrow there will be so many firsts as it truly is a new beginning!

Cathedral of St Mary Miami Wedding And Moore Building Reception

Every wedding and event I have the good fortunate to experience and capture with my eyes and feelings is for me a unique moment in time. Unique in the exclusivity of the couple that I am photographing ~ their love story ~ their love of family and friends. True that these are common factors in many weddings but as individual as there are grains of sand in the ocean. My pleasure in capturing weddings that make each one a joy to photograph is the individuality of each Bride and Groom and what they bring to their wedding story. Now let me share with you what makes Victoria and Randy’s  Cathedral of St Mary Miami wedding and Moore Building reception so unique!

Let me start off with stating that it takes a team to execute all this awesomeness and Eric Trelles of ET Events to see that it went off without a hitch ~

Now you’ll need to see the slide show to understand ~ but the day started with me being introduced to Claymore! Now Claymore is Victoria’s baby ~ pooch! Why is it that couples get a dog in the beginning as if maybe their practicing for parenthood?

Next ~ It’s not everyday that your wedding ceremony is performed by an Archbishop! Yes, Archbishop Thomas Wenski of the Archdiocese of Miami conducted this wedding mass at the beautiful Cathedral of St Mary in Miami!

Now when we arrived at the very cool Moore Building in the Design District Miami all were amazed by the beauty and WOW factor of this very chic location!

Now what took this wedding over the top was the food! Victoria decided to surprise Randy with his favorite Chef John Sorensen of Sorensen Catering in Napa Valley. Now Chef Sorensen is famous for his Lobster Feeds in Napa Valley. I know your wondering what’s a Lobster Feed…well there are no plates, dishes or utensils well except for these claw crackers to break open the claws with and the really cool bibs so your black tie attire doesn’t get stuff on it! Now it wasn’t just great food ~ the surprise at the end was churros from Victoria’s bridesmaid ~ Nicole Valls whose family owns the worlds most famous Cuban restaurant ~ Versailles!

The Palms Hotel and Spa, Miami Beach Wedding

You’re engaged and you begin to visualize the wedding that prior to your engagement was but a dream ~ but now it’s really happening! So when Todd proposed to Lareshska the planning started with the questions “what do we want this wedding to be?” and ” what experience do we want for our family and friends?”

Today’s I share with you their Palms Hotel Miami Beach wedding that was the essence of a beautiful, elegant but very simple affair. As destination weddings go you can count on family and your most intimate of friends to be there and this is exactly what Lareshka and Todd wanted ~ an intimate weekend of joy and celebration that transcends the typical wedding.

And what more exciting location for a wedding than in a tropical setting that takes your senses to some far away paradise and my partner, Laura Massa had an amazing time capturing the essence of their wedding!

A delightful first dance ~ oh the hours of rehearsal that went into this moment!

Lareshka and Todd’s dream wedding featured the talents of the incredible staff at the Palms Hotel~ Miami Beach, St Jude Counseling Ministries officiating the ceremony, Ana Paz Cakes creating delicious art as always and beautiful floral design by Bayfront Floral and Event Design

Biltmore Hotel Coral Gables Wedding

Love is a funny thing and works in mysterious ways. Like in the case of Patti and Dennis—they lived their whole youth together from elementary school to high school. They had many of the same friends and definitely crossed each other’s paths many a time as they were growing up. Time passed and they both walked down different life paths. Years later at a high school reunion, they met again and this time, love was ready for the two of them. That reunion led to a wonderful new and exciting marriage!

I was never able to meet Patti before her wedding day. In meeting her and getting to know her personality as well as Dennis’s, I could see this couple was meant to be. The Biltmore Hotel was a wonderful place to really bring out both Patti and Dennis’s sophisticated, yet fun-loving characters.

The Biltmore Hotel, with its rich history and amazing architecture, comes alive with all the celebrations that are held there. It looks as grand as it probably ever looked when it was in its heyday and the air of romance is everywhere. On this particular day, three couples were sharing the splendor of a Biltmore Hotel wedding and the mood really helped Patti and Dennis let loose. There are so many sweet and tender moments between them and capturing the moments (one of my most favorite things to photograph) was the highlight of our mini portrait session.

I mentioned that I absolutely love to capture moments as they happen and the moment of the first embrace and dancing in front of your friends and family is one of the most touching parts of the night! The organic, real moments are the things I feel most of our couples treasure the most as it is a reminder of the love and warmth that was present at the particular moment.

Patti and Dennis’s celebration was a small, intimate affair and getting to know their families was something I will always cherish. The laughs and smiles I captured really expressed to me how close the bond of this family was. The comfort they had with me as well as being able to really enjoy my presence recording their good time is very important and I make sure that all my couples as well as their families know they can trust me.

As the night wound down, the warmth and love never did! I know that they will forever treasure the photos as a reminder of the beautiful pact they’ve made to each other.

Four Season Palm Beach Wedding

We spend so much time thinking about the wedding details and the experience that we want and have on this amazing day but we don’t think about the days, weeks and years after ~ the anniversaries!

A year ago today Aryn and Jeremy pledge their lives to each other ~ a year has gone by already! But it’s only a tick on their clock of life. Just yesterday I met a man at a wedding that introduced me to his Bride of 65 years…when I commented that she must have been a child Bride he responded with ” I was 12 and she was 8!”

Being a Miami wedding photographer, I realize that on this day I am capturing their love story, their history! That the images taken this day will be looked upon with tears of joy, laughter and memories reaffirmed.

Their children and grandchildren will ooh and ahh at every detail and they too will dream of their day.

I wish for every couple whose wedding that we photograph that they look back on their past with the same pleasure as they look toward their future!

I can’t help but think that these images of joy, delight and exuberance will not at some point in their lives affirm their devotion and love for each other.

Miami Wedding Engagement Portrait

It has been an amazing time of love and romance for all of our incredible couples! We as Miami wedding photographers have been privileged to capture so many great love stories, capturing every imaginable moment and as each wedding approaches ~ excited that we’ll get to be there to tell their wedding day story for generations of families to come!

Saturday ~ Sarah and Oscar are to be married at the inspiring First United Methodist Church Of Coral Gables with a celebration to follow at the Biltmore Hotel! These engagement images that you are seeing are just a glimpse of the love and respect that we’ll delight in photographing ~

I can’t stop thinking of how their children, their grandchildren will think ~ when they see these photos ~ when the moment that a great grandchild will find these tucked away in an album or a special keepsake box ~ hopefully accompanied by a note or love letter from one to another ~ the thought of such a moment excites me!

Will they sense the love, the passion, the chemistry that these two lovers share? I know the answer ~ these images are witness to that love that will speak for them forever ~ look at their eyes , the tender way that they hold and caress each other!

I can’t wait till their wedding ~ knowing that I am creating a legacy, a history of these two as they are joined as “one”!

Are you curious to know where these images were created? Back in the early 1900′s James Deering, a wealthy industrialist, had his estate and gardens built on Biscayne Bay. Today we know this estate as Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. I’ve photographed couples and wedding here many times – it is one of my favorite places. When you’re ready for your engagement session, ask me about using this as our location – I’d love to create special images for you as well!

Celebrates Leap Year 2012!

Our studio has been featured a number of times on The Knot. It is one of the best places to get ideas for your Miami Wedding and to see what other brides are doing. I regularly “stop by” to see what is being posted. Today I came across this short article on Leap Day (Leap Year?) and how brides were able to take advantage of a bridal loophole. Take a look.

Rules of courtship are quite different these days (and much less strict), but long ago women who were hoping to marry had to wait for their beaus to propose. They were not “allowed” to pop the question themselves, except on one day: on a leap year (February 29th) — also known as Sadie Hawkins Day — which occurs every four years. The tradition dates back hundreds of years, to when the leap year was not recognized by English law; the day was simply “leapt over” and ignored. Since it had no legal status, formal traditions did not apply on this day. Consequently, women who were not content to wait for a proposal took advantage of this anomaly and popped the question themselves. It was also thought that since leap year corrected the discrepancy between the calendar year (365 days) and the time it takes for the earth to complete one orbit of the sun (365 days and 6 hours), it was an opportunity for women to correct a tradition that was one-sided and unfair. Go ladies of yore!

Guys put so much thought into deciding where they will propose to you. So this idea has me thinking. Where would you propose to him? Maybe a Heat game or a fishing trip and they say that the way to a man’s heart is his stomach ~ so maybe his favorite restaurant! I am a firm believer that a successful wedding experience is the result of a great team! The team being each and every wedding artist chosen by the Bride and Groom to fulfill their expectations ~ their dreams! Great wedding professionals like great artists understand the elements that go into creating a masterpiece. The chef who creates an amazing meal has the skill but more so the knowledge to take amazing ingredients and create a sumptuous meal! The musical artist has the skill to create the music but more important his knowledge gives the party the right vibe to get those feet moving! The florist takes nature and blends the textures,colors and shapes to creates a visual that will delight the eye. The visual artist be it the photographer or videographer has the skill to capture the story/elements of a wedding ~the dress, the flowers, cake, food and music but has the knowledge to anticipate the emotions that tie all these together ~ love!

So when planning your wedding ~ think about the team that you’re putting together and how together you will imagine and they will execute the wedding of your dreams!

So today I get to share with you Raluca and Nicolae’s wedding experience that was like an episode of the Love Boat! Their wedding took place on the Biscayne Lady Yacht and from the moment we boarded ship the magic of being on the water, the perfect weather, family and friends from all over the world with beautiful accents we knew we were in for a night of intrigue, romance and pure Eastern European partying!

Raluca looked absolutely stunning in a Marchesa Bridal gown and Nicolae was the perfect groom for this beautiful Bride!

I love this image below of Nicolae looking so calm, confident and ready to take on the world! Kudos to my partner Stella for capturing this iconic image.

Quite often I speak of the ability to be in the moment emotionally as a photographer and having the ability to sense when special moments are about to take place ~ the love between parents as their son takes such a big step in life is such a moment!

And then the moment right after your first married kiss ~ you turn and see all those loving faces smiling, crying, cheering you on as husband and wife ~ it’s got to be such a rush!

It was an amazing setting on the water and a beautiful sky to begin their wedding celebration ~

We enjoyed it all: the presentation, the customized client page, the rapid response, the fact that the second day after the wedding you posted the photos on Facebook, your PR abilities (posting the photo on Marchesa’s page and on Chic Parisien’s page, commenting on them), the assistance during the wedding (I felt that I didn’t need any bridesmaids ). What I absolutely loved are the pictures – the work of an artist. They are amazing. Everybody saw them on Facebook and commented on how great they were. Planning your wedding should be a blast! You get engaged, you run out and buy a magazine or two. Your Mom, Sister, Grandmother and best friends chime in…you’ve been looking at a few too many wedding blogs and it can just be too much ~ too many choices, ideas ~ too much inspiration! So how do you make this wedding yours?

Quite often I ask a Bride if she and her fiance have sat down and discussed with each other what kind of wedding they want to have. Quite often that questions is met with a brief pause and usually I hear “no we haven’t”.

So to make this process a little less stressful, I suggest that they have that chat and choose maybe 4-6 words that describe their idea of their unique wedding experience. Those words can range from formal to casual, traditional to contemporary, elegant to relaxed, fun, crazy, sophisticated ~ you get the idea but think of what makes this wedding a reflection of you and your fiance. I think you’ll find decision making a little easier.

So I have this amazing wedding to share with you today! Hillary and Jonathan enjoyed perfect weather for their outdoor Jewish ceremony at the lovely Westin Diplomat Golf Resort. From the moment Dad had a look at his daughter in a wedding gown I knew we were in for a wonderfully emotional, touching wedding!

Hillary and Jonathan decided on having a first look and we took advantage of the opportunity to create some beautiful portraits all over the resort.

And they took advantage of some quiet moments to reflect on the experience they were living in this moment and relax knowing that this is just the beginning of an amazing adventure of love and life!

Without a doubt this wedding spoke of the love and respect of family, for each other and the experience for all those involved.

A moment every Jewish parent of a Bride dreams of ~ escorting their daughter to the Chuppah to be joined as one with her husband.

Surrounded by family and loved ones this moment is timeless in all that is promises.

Moments as this are enduring to all involved as it is literally the moments that will be most cherished in a lifetime.

A Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Four Seasons Miami Wedding

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of introducing Gaby and Sergio through an engagement session we did together.

Now, I am thrilled to reintroduce them to you as husband and wife! Gaby and Sergio were married a few weeks back at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Miami and an incredible celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel Miami. Both from top to bottom radiate style and grace!

From the amazing vintage car, to the rustic and grand church, down to all the special details during the reception—everything was perfection! Not to mention Gaby herself, absolutely gorgeous!  Sergio also had a few tricks up his sleeves, performing a guitar set for his Bride as a surprise she won’t soon ever forget. This was truly an unforgettable night full of fun and surprises, smiles and laughter, and moments in time that both Laura and I are honored to have captured. Enjoy!

The party rocked with the Queen of Kings Band as Gaby and Sergio led a royal La Hora Loca. What a night ~ what a wedding!
