Moments in our lives are so fleeting ~ It was just 5years ago that Sarah and Matthew met. I have no doubts that they can recall moments as the first time they met, a first kiss, that “AHHA” moment when they realized within each other that this is the “ONE” ~

Tomorrow they’ll be getting married surrounded by loved ones of a lifetime at the beautiful Four Seasons Hotel Miami.

Moments will take place on this wonderful day and they will burn in their collective memories but as their conversations in life grow short the moments captured photographically by our passionate eyes will rekindle this day as if it were yesterday.

Here’s to a Happy Marriage!

Epiphany Catholic Church   Four Seasons Miami Wedding

It started with a phone call that led to a blind date ~ Luis calls and Lauren answers ~

“Lou – well-known lover of the arts – has tickets to a concert the next Monday, and his date (his beautiful cousin, Nathalie) has recently bowed-out.  Would Lauren be interested in going along?  Without skipping a beat, an enthusiastic Lauren says, “yes.””

“Two days later, the pair are to rendezvous after work at the single most romantic place in the Magic City: the Douglas Road MetroRail Station.  Lou arrives in his black sports car; Lauren in her silver train.  Lou is better looking than Lauren had hoped.  Lauren is as beautiful as her Facebook pictures, but, to Lou’s disappointment, is not wearing a bikini in real life.  They lock eyes, say hello, and ride off into the sunset…”

“To a concert where, to this day, Lauren does not remember the acts.  What she does remember is that: 1- she was so nervous on the way to the concert that Lou told her to “stop shaking”; 2- the concert was on a college campus, so there was no alcohol with which to drown the butterflies in her stomach; 3- she couldn’t hear anything Lou said, nor could she identify a single song she heard; and, 4- she dropped Lou’s phone in the toilet and didn’t tell him*.

*Lauren would tell Lou sometime in 2008 that she had “dropped it in the sink.”  She then SOMEHOW disassembled it and blow-dried it back to functionality.  To this day, Lou believes that she threw it in a toilet, and enlisted someone else to help her dry it.*”

“Lou, on the other hand, recalls every detail of that first night together – from the music, to Lauren’s nerves, to driving her home and asking if he could call on her again.  There was something about this girl… and his phone smelled like Scrubbing Bubbles.”

Four and a half years later and Lauren & Lou have been together ever since.  They have only been to one other concert because Lauren won’t remember the music anyway, and they have gone through many, many cell phones. But they still love each other, and are so looking forward to this weekend to share with family and friends the wedding of their lives at the beautiful Epiphany Catholic Church and a joyous celebration at the fabulous Four Seasons Miami!

Miami Wedding Engagement Portrait

They met in an elevator ~ Melina and Paul would exchange glances and a smile. Months would pass when they each eyed each other during a local happy hour ~ as she was getting the nerve up to approach him ~ Paul beat her to the punch and made his move! Now these two are quite shy and this was a major moment…that was cut short by a co worker of Paul’s spilling a drink  on Melina at which point she made her departure ~

But not before he got her phone number! But after the experience in the bar, Paul was sure that Melina was not in the mood to hear from him again ~ until they met three weeks later ~ in the elevator! Based on her sweet demeanor and realizing that she wasn’t upset ~ no sooner did she get into her office that she received a text message! The rest is history!

It’s stories like this that endears me to each and every couple that I get to experience on their wedding day! Call me corny, sappy ~ I have been known to shed a tear or two at many a wedding. I love weddings and knowing the importance of this awesome day for not only the couple but their parents, family and friends inspires me to create an amazing story!

So this weekend as many of you are planning your own wedding, I’ll be at St Patrick’s Catholic Church on Miami Beach for a beautiful wedding and then it’s Jungle Island for one amazing party. Think of us as your photographers as we would love the opportunity to get to know you and capture your moments of love!

Temple Judea Coral Gables The Ocean Club Wedding

I love getting to know my couples ~ how they met, fell in love, how he proposed ~ I am intrigued by love and the relationships that bond because of this magical feeling. So the opportunity to create some great images is for me an ideal time to connect with each couple that have entrusted to me their wedding memories. Below is a description of Jeremy’s guide to the perfect proposal!

Step 1: Take her to an activity that she loves (example: walking in a nearby park in the moonlight)

Step 2: Suggest they take puppies (if you don’t have puppies, you should borrow some!)

Step 3: Propose in the park with the puppies as perfectly behaved witnesses!

As described in the guide above ~ Jeremy did take Deborah for a romantic walk with the family dogs on a moonlit evening ~ something that Deborah just loved! Now imagine Jeremy’s thought process ~ ring burning a hole in his pocket ~ he’s about to ask the most important question he has ever asked to his best friend! Looking for just the right moment to look into his loves eyes, get down on one knee and ask “Will you marry me?” Deborah’s response after a little screaming and crying ~ YES!

We are so looking forward to an amazing time at their upcoming wedding at Temple Judea in Coral Gables and what I know is going to be a blast of a reception at the Ocean Club!

Our Lady Of Lebanon ~ Westin Colonnade Wedding

Sometimes I know that it is best that I let my couples write the Blog post ~

Salim:  “Well … where do I start?  Twas a wonderful afternoon as I headed to Miami for a party filled weekend to celebrate Roni’s bachelor party.  And then BAM!  I saw her pacing in the airport terminal, impatiently awaiting to board the airplane.  Little did I know, I was staring at my future wife … and little did she know, she was going to sit right next to me.”

“And so it began … Karim and I board the flight and get situated in our seats.  As we joke amongst ourselves, we notice Myriam walking down the aisle.  We immediately begin guessing at her age!  Next thing I know, we hear “You guys must be Lebanese!”.  The laughter between Karim and I immediately came to a halt … and then we exploded into even more laughter as we thought we’d been caught.  As Myriam slid by me to sit in the middle seat, we began talking … and the laughter and discussion continued for all 2.5 hours of the flight.  The flight ended with the exchange of a phone number and of course, facebook.  It was immediately apparent to me that Myriam and I … well, let’s just say it was impossible to deny that we had so much in common.  I couldn’t stop thinking about her the whole weekend.  As soon as I arrived back in DC that Monday, I texted her and invited her to attend my birthday party.  The rest is history … and here we are now!”

Myriam: “Our 1 year anniversary fell on Labor Day weekend. I had been working nights all week and every morning I would come home to find flowers in my apartment. Sunday was our 1 year anniversary and Salim had made reservations at an amazing restaurant. The entire weekend he had been telling me how upset he was that my anniversary present was not going to arrive in time due to the holiday weekend. We returned back to my apartment after a wonderful dinner and he gave me a card. At the end of the note he wrote could you please look at me? I looked at him and he said “I have a confession; there is no gift; but I have one more flower to give you”. He reached behind one of the bouquet of roses…

“and pulled out a glass rose and handed it to me. In the rose was my ring and he went down on one knee and proposed!”

Now after first reading this, I will confess that I was wiping away tears… what amazing stories ~ and better yet the gift of love that Myriam and Salim have for each other. But wait as it isn’t so simple as Myriam and Salim as this gift of love extends to their parents, siblings…aunts, uncles and cousins and all those that are honored to witness the marriage!

St Theresa Church of the Little Flower Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove Wedding

We are so excited that this weekend we’ll be photographing Veronica and Ernesto’s Miami wedding! But before this wonderful day we had the opportunity to connect and get to know each other!

We hopped into my car as time was of the essence and went to what I like to call the Gables roundabout ~ great little vignettes of Coral Gables with great architecture and lovely foliage!

As we traveled from location to location ~ I got to know how they met and the beginnings of a love story that manana culminates into a wedding ceremony at St Theresa Church Of The Little Flower and celebration to follow at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove!

St Theresa Church of the Little Flower Comber Hall Wedding

It has been an amazing summer with weddings in Peru, Ecuador, Cape Cod and our home base in South Florida! This weekend we get to experience Aubrey and Clint’s wedding at two amazing locations ~ St Theresa Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables and Comber Hall.

This session was important because it was the first time that I got to meet Aubrey and Clint in person! Having the opportunity to connect in person with your photographer is wonderful when you can and I can think of no better way than to spend a few hours during an engagement session creating beautiful images and a new friendship.

These timeless images will forever be a testament to this loving couple in the beginning of their lives together! This past Sunday I photographed a 60th anniversary party and their at the celebration were photographs of the anniversary couple in the beginnings of their relationship. It hit home that the images that I take today will be the images that years from now will be enjoyed by generations to follow for each and every couple that I photograph.

So when you’re looking for your photographer for the most important times in your lives ~ ask yourselves are their images “timeless” ~ images that years from now will be as fresh and vibrant as your love!

The Cathedral Of Saint Mary Wedding Westin Colonnade Reception

So excited to feature Kathia and Rubens engagement session on our Blog today! This weekend is a dream come true for this amazing couple as they are to be married at the beautiful Cathedral of Saint Mary in Miami.

For me having the opportunity to connect with Kathia and Rubens and engage in conversation about their love for each other allows me to become emotionally invested in their wedding. With this connection, emotionally I become drawn in to their love story and get carried away with feelings of joy in capturing their wedding day.

The happiness that I experience being a wedding photographer is immeasurable! To be there on your most important day of your lives together ~ to witness countless moments ~ moments that are obvious and those that a gifted artist with a sensitive, intuitive eye will only notice and then to see your faces light up when upon seeing your photos for the first time and memories that become happily overwhelming ~ it’s like a drug for me!

First United Methodist Church Coral Gables Wedding  |  Grove Isle Reception

Mayrelis has been planning her wedding since she was 5 years old! Now this is a Bride who played wedding day with her friends and dreaming of Prince Charming on a white horse coming along and sweeping her off her feet to live happily ever after. Well as love stories go Mayrelis and Maurice could star in a Disney classic of their own!

Mayrelis took that passion and love for planning weddings to another level as she is the lead wedding coordinator at A Joy Wallace Catering, Production and Design. So you can imagine once Maurice asked the question of  marriage ~ the dreams became a reality and it has been one amazing year of loving, joy and excitement as these two started to plan their wedding together!

It’s such a thrill to capture the joys and nuances at every wedding that we photograph and I know that Mayrelis was watching whenever we had the pleasure of working together and knew early on that she had found her photographer.

Meeting Maurice and getting to make the connection with them as a couple is what an engagement session is all about ~ and it’s that established connection that will take their wedding images to another level!

So as this weekend approaches, I am excited that our Studio will be there to capture the moments as the dreams of this amazing couple come true!
